News from alums: Ann Stewart (MFA 2009)

Using the tools of mapping, patterning, and naming, Atlanta based artist and Stamps alumAnn Stewart, draws inspiration from the disciplines of cognitive science, philosophy, and architecture to create images that reference living systems, natural phenomena, and architectural structures. Recently, Ann has been experimenting with printmaking to create inverse images which allude to forms that look more like constellations. Her current work, large-scale drawings and a series of prints, can be seen at whitespace, the gallery that represents her in Atlanta.

Since graduating from Michigan in 2009, Ann has been a resident artist at the Vermont Studio Center Penland and the Atlanta Printmakers StudioShe teaches at Georgia Perimeter College having also taught at SCAD Atlanta and Georgia Tech.
